A Charlie Checklist

I enjoyed seeing this list going around on social media in honor of Charlie Kirk's birthday, and I thought I'd share it here with a few of my own thoughts on it.

Number one and eight are about honoring the sabbath, and going to church. If you're local, and not sure where to attend church, I want to invite you to my church! Family Fundamental Church in Warroad, MN is a conservative Bible believing church, and regardless of where you're at in your walk with God, we'd love to meet you where you are, and help you take the next step in your walk with God.

Number two, Journal everyday. As a writer, I'd like to say that I do this . . . but I don't. In fact, I'm really bad at keeping up in my journal. But I do think it's a good idea! :)

Number three is Send Scripture to friends. So, here's a Scripture for today. Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Number four, is to have conversations with people you disagree with. It's way easier to avoid conflict, and pretend to agree with everyone, then to have honest conversations when you disagree with someone, but that's something I'd love to get better at. If you know you disagree with me on a topic from the LGBTQ topics, to abortion, to politics, to how I drink my coffee, let's talk about it! Ask me questions, and challenge me to have good answers.

Number 6? Well, I'm working on it! :)

Number 11, isn't limited to just a spouse. As Christians, we're called to be servants of Christ, and always be looking for ways to serve better. Luke 17:10 "So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do."

Number 13, stand up for your beliefs. I've been really saddened as I watch Christian friends living as if parts of the Bible aren't true. Parts like Ephesians, where it talks about wives submitting, children being called to obey, and spiritual warfare. I believe the Bible is true from cover to cover, and that's a stand worth taking.

I'll leave it there for now, but read through the list, and see if there isn't something you should be doing that you're not. We all need to be challenged sometimes, and wake up to the needs around us.

One Thing…

 Here’s a run down from the week…

One place I went this week- AWANAS. While my aunt is gone, I’m filling in for some lessons at AWANAS.

One thing I ate this week- Leftover corn maze pizza.

One thing I finished reading - Technically, I listened to it, but I finished the book Tactics, by Gregory Koukl. It was a GREAT book, very thought provoking, and if you have any interest in having answers for the world’s questions, or any desire to improve your own ability to ask good questions, this is a must read. Apologetics and evangelism go hand in hand!

One thing I wrote - A card at a baby shower.

One strange thing I saw… a cow playing Tricky Triangle!

One thing I watched - Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant. It is a totally bizarre movie, but no one does dramatics like Cary Grant!

One thing I bought - An old Ed Ames record.

One thing I learned - You can buy a license to hunt unicorns in Michigan! But there are rules.

One thing I read in my Bible - Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

So, how are you doing at overcoming Satan? Are you using the power of Jesus’ blood, and your testimony? And are you ready to die for Christ?

Opportunities in Outings

During the maze season, getting away isn’t easy! So we make the most of the little things. A trip to Thief River to pick up supplies for the weekend can be a lot of fun!

The looks you get when you buy 200 hotdogs…

Or the looks you get when you load two carts with pop!

Then, when you get a free minute… why not get a hair dye while you’re out!?!

I’m always amazed at how many opportunities there are in a normal day to share Christ. The Dollar Tree worker who has adult children that won’t speak to her… the lady in the next chair at the salon who had a rough night at the bar… the opportunities are everywhere! So, my challenge for today, is be intentional. Don’t let the opportunities slip by.
